Dear Lady Who Prayed for Me

At the time you prayed for me, my emotional hurt was so severe it could be physically felt. My heart felt as though it had been broken into pieces. You approached me during a time I could not talk to God or people; the only communication I was capable of was sobs. I was so broken that I had no words to say, and when I did, they simply could not come out.

Up until this point, I did not know this depth of brokenness could be reached. I arrived at this place of brokenness because of a situation involving my children. The love a mother has for her child can’t be comprehended--only felt.

A mother’s love, for her child, can bring her heart to untouched heights of joy and new depths of sadness.

I want to thank you first for praying every day--your daily prayers trained you to recognize God’s voice and you heard Him say, “Pray for her.”

Thank you for your obedience--you answered God’s request.

Thank you for your selflessness--you stopped what you were doing and you prayed for me.

Thank you for your courage--you did not know me yet approached me with prayer.

Thank you for your faith--when you pray, you pray with authority and certainty that your prayers can and will move mountains.

Your prayer assisted in moving my mountain. Your words still flow through my thoughts many years later. While I was drowning in life’s sorrows, your prayer was like a life support thrown to me. You are preserving lives with your prayers. You not only preserved my life but an entire family.

I am grateful for you. I want to be like you. I want to pay it forward. I want my prayers to be prayed with that same level of authority, courage, boldness, and faith. I want my prayers to penetrate the heart and soul just like yours do.

I have a deeply felt appreciation for you. Thank you for throwing me a life preserver and inspiring me to pray.

Love,

Beautifully Broken But Perfectly Restored

“So that there should be no division in the body, but concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:25-27
