Look God Is Making a Way

Have you ever been in a situation that felt like a bad dream? You could hardly believe that you were living in your own per

sonal reality. You searched endlessly for a way of escape but couldn’t find one. Some people are survivors of this kind of hardship; others are currently living it. Some found a way out but found themselves, once again, living out another bad dream sometime later.

One of the worst nightmares I ever experienced in real life was going through the custody battle process. Talk about loathing your own reality! As a mother, I can say when you give birth to your child, an immediate intense desire to not let go of each other attaches to both mother and child. In a custody battle, the opposing side of the battle is doing all that they can to strip away time from the other parent, which can result in weakening that innate bond that God intended. Everything in you fights back to keep it. This is heart wrenching to say the least. It is also heart wrenching, as a parent, to place your child in the arms of a person you do not trust.

Anyone who has lived through breakups, divorce, and custody battles has lived through a walking nightmare. Some nightmares are worse than others. You know, there are the ones that wake you suddenly from your sleep in the middle of the night--they’re so bad you can’t fall back asleep without a struggle. And then there are those that do not wake you but you do remember them vividly the next day. Bottom line: no one likes nightmares, no one wants to live in a nightmare, and anyone who is living a nightmare needs a path to take them out of it.

So many times we look to professionals for a way out--police, lawyers, counselors, doctors, etc. This is good, and God can definitely use them to help in your situation. However, He does have a specific path He wants you to travel on through the ugly reality you are living in. He does not hide this path from you, however, it can only be found by spending time with Him. He is your only accurate road map. This path He has paved for you to travel on is only found by seeking Him wholeheartedly and giving Him your undivided attention..

You see, He has the way all mapped out for you, but He’s a gentleman, wanting to be your tour guide, who can only guide you as far as your personal will allows Him to do so. You have to agree to use His GPS app--so to speak. In order to see His map clearly, you must access the app regularly through prayer and reading His Word. Because twists, turns, roadblocks, and exits lay ahead, you have to stay connected. This is vital to your journey.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:7

Whether you are currently living a heart wrenching reality or have one waiting for you down life’s road, God has a path for you to travel on. Friend, who is wonderfully and fearfully created by God (Psalm 139:14), this path will bring you out safely. May God graciously and richly bless you on your journey!
